Book: Into the Hands of Leaders: Employee Growth through Learning
I’ve written my next book, and it’s coming out in November this year!
In our fast-changing world, we face a tension between short-term results and long-term growth. Traditional training programs often fail to equip teams with the skills to innovate and adapt, widening skill gaps and increasing employee disengagement. This book, Into the Hands of Leaders: Employee Growth through Learning, argues that fostering a culture of continuous learning is crucial for long-term success in a complex business environment. It emphasizes the importance of leaders cultivating a Growth through Learning orientation and offers a fresh perspective on employee development.
I’ll be at the I4PL Conference in November. Find me on Nov 21 for the Meet the Author Panel and on Nov 22 for my presentation, Bridge the Gap: Lead with Learning for leader-led team development. My book will be available at the I4PL bookstore.
Podcast: Growth through Learning
I’ve launched a podcast based on the interviews in my book.
Last fall, I interviewed about 20 leaders when I was researching my book. Our conversations helped me refine my thinking and tighten up my message. It provided the structure and chapters for my book.
Many leaders agreed to have their stories included in my book, so you’ll read about their experiences. Some leaders also agreed to have our conversations recorded to use in a podcast. The podcast is now ready and features conversations with those leaders. It’s a limited series – six episodes that follow the themes in my book.

Cards: Lead, Learn, Grow! conversation cards
I’ve created a deck of cards with questions and actions to help leaders embed learning and growth in their teams.
Embed learning and growth in your team by nurturing a Learning Mindset and fostering a Team Culture of learning.
- Learning Mindset includes being curious, having the courage to take risks, and being a lifelong learner.
- Team Culture includes committing to learning in your team, caring for your employees, and embracing coaching in your regular interactions.
These cards include questions in each of these areas and ideas for actions you and your team can take to embed learning in your team’s DNA.
If you lead a team – use the question in meetings to set a tone of engagement and learning. You can also combine a question and action to develop a specific skill with your team.
If you work in HR – use these cards at the beginning of a workshop or all-employee meeting to set the stage for openness, contribution and growth.
Available October 2024. Email me to pre-order your deck.
