Privacy Policy
In the course of doing business, I am entrusted with confidential, proprietary and private information about clients, customers and employees.
I am responsible for protecting all confidential, proprietary and private information given to me by my clients.
I take the responsibility for the privacy of personal information about my clients, your employees and customers very seriously. I have established this Privacy Policy to protect the privacy rights of my clients and associates. This Privacy Policy has been created to conform to the ten privacy principles developed by the Canadian Standards Association.
Principle 1: Accountability
I am accountable for all personal information in my possession or custody, including any personal information disclosed to third parties for processing or other administrative functions.
Principle 2: Identifying Purposes
I shall identify the purposes for which personal information is collected either before or at the time the information is collected.
Principle 3: Consent
The individual’s knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate or where required or permitted by law. In cases where my client’s customer or employee’s personal information is conveyed to me, I will ensure that consent requirements are met.
Principle 4: Limiting Collection
Collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary. In assignments conducted for clients, the collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes of the assignment. In all cases, the information shall be collected fairly and legally.
Principle 5: Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by applicable law, rules or regulations. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
Principle 6: Accuracy
Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used. In the case of an assignment conducted for a client, I will verify the personal information with the client.
Principle 7: Safeguards
Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information, and in the case of information provided to me by clients, in accordance with agreed safeguards.
Principle 8: Openness
I shall make information available to my clients and associates about the policies and practices that apply to the management of their information.
Principle 9: Individual Access
Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their information and shall be given access to it. An individual may verify the accuracy and completeness of their information and may request that it be amended if appropriate.
