In 2021-2022, I was tasked with building a learning design team that would create learning products for online delivery. As I started to staff up, I quickly realized that we needed expertise on virtual design and facilitation. I called on Hannah Brown, who came to work alongside us, as a thinking partner, sounding board, and resource to support our mindset and toolset shift from classroom-based design to virtual design. Hannah provided practical support in the form of templates, tools, and processes; advisory support on facilitation approaches and interactive applications; brainstorming and problem-solving support when we needed to find new and innovative solutions; and a research-based support when we needed evidence for our design related decisions. Hannah quickly became a valued collaborator and trusted ally for the team and was instrumental in our successful transition to online learning design. Thanks to Hannah, we were able to meet our goal to design meaningful online learning experiences.
